Brief CV

Rod Cameron is a professional hydrogeologist with over 25 years UK and international experience. After periods with the former Severn-Trent and Thames Water Authorities he joined Aspinwall Hydrotechnical Services Ltd in 1980 as a Senior Hydrogeologist. He carried out a large number of water resource and landfill studies in the UK and Ireland before gaining overseas project experience in the Middle East and Africa. Rod returned to manage UK and Overseas natural resource projects from 1984 in what was now Hydrotechnica. In 1989 he left Hydrotechnica to become a founder director of Water Management Consultants (WMC), working on mine hydrology projects in a variety of locations including the UK, Ireland, USA, China, Chile and Peru. During this time he set up WMC’s modelling capability, and was MD of WMC’s UK operation in 1991 and 1993-95, and of their Chile operation from launch in 1992 and from 1995. Rod left Water Management Consultants in 1997 to pursue freelance work, and joined Enviros Aspinwall (formerly Aspinwall & Company Ltd) in 1998. He has now returned to freelancing. His principal interests are in water resources, water-related environmental impact, risk assessment and sustainable development with considerable experience in the application of these in water exploration, evaluation and natural resource & environmental management in the mining and other sectors.
