Brief CV

With over 40 years in geology, mining, mine finance, resource investment appraisal and executive management, Michael Legg has wide-ranging expertise related to project development and project appraisal, including compilation of feasibility study documents. Senior executive positions have been held in junior mineral resource companies. Knowledge of corporate governance. Taking up permanent residence in Switzerland in 2008 to represent Canadian resource companies in Europe and to target European investors. After ten years’ experience with Falconbridge in Africa and Canada as a geologist, including managing exploration programmes, reserves assessment and mine geological control in gold, copper, zinc-lead (Tara, Ireland) and non-metallics, Michael Legg’s career developed into engineering, mine finance, management consulting and executive management. In 1980 he joined the Bank of Montreal’s Mining Services Department handling risk assessment for financing of gold, coal, base metal and non-metallics projects. In 1990 he moved to Coopers & Lybrand and was in charge of the Toronto mining consulting practice. He advised organisations on investment, management appraisals and productivity improvement. From 1994 to 2004, based in London, England, he practised as an independent mine finance and management consultant. He was engaged upon feasibility studies, project evaluations, resource investment assistance, resource sector appraisals and management training for mineral resource enterprises, governments and organisations in Armenia, Colombia, Greece, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Ukraine. He returned to Canada in 2004, and was Executive Vice President for Minco Mining & Metals Corporation, a TSX-listed junior gold and silver exploration company with interests in China. From February 2006 he was appointed Vice President, Operations for Alliance Pacific Resources Inc., a junior base metal and gold exploration company also with interests in China, where he remained until April 2007. He has since returned to a consulting role to represent exploration and mining companies in Europe by matching them up with European investors from a Swiss base.
