Brief CV

John Chadwick is the Publisher and Editor of International Mining and Chairman of Team Publishing, the company that owns the magazine. He was one of the original founders of the magazine back in 1984 and in 2005 he brought this prestigious publication back to the market place. It is now the only technical magazine for international mine management that is published every month. He also devised and launched International Mining P:roject News which provides a fortnightly update on published information on projects across the world at the scoping study stage and beyond. He is a past Editorial Director of Mining Magazine, Coal Magazine (which he launched), Mining Environmental Management and GeoDrilling International (which he also launched). John has a degree in mining engineering with work experience in Western Australian nickel, Cornish tin and Zambian copper. Since leaving the production side of the mining industry, John has spent more than 30 years in mining publishing, starting on World Mining, where he won the John Deere Industrial Journalism Award for his article on the Letseng-la-Terai diamond mine in Lesotho. At that time he also worked on World Coal. In 1984 he launched International Mining and in 1990 became editorial director of Mining Magazine. He has travelled extensively all over the world, on every continent except Antarctica, visiting mining, processing and metallurgical operations, and many exploration sites. In addition to his editorial and publishing work, John consultants to various companies in the industry.
